Women with red hair are just thought to be sexier. I know it’s a sterotype but it’s true.
As human beings we react to color and red is an intense and sexual color. Red is the color of heat and of passion. It is the color of blood and therefore life. Sexual passion brings up the heat in the blood and body parts turn dark red. Red hair seems to trigger primal responses to all of these things. They say that redheads are more passionate. I don’t know if that’s true but it could be. I naturally have a medium brown hair color, blue eyes, and pale white skin. I have the traditional English coloring. I had beautiful, glossy brown hair but when it lost its beauty as I aged, I started to dye it and thought, why not red. Wow, I really saw a difference in how men reacted to me. There was an entirely new level of interest with the new hair color. I pull it off well though because my skin makes it look natural. If my skin tones were off I think it wouldn’t look as good. Men are like bulls and women with red hair are like the flag the matador waves. We certainly get their attention. |
Historically, prejudice and suspicion has always greeted the redhead, along with the belief that they were fiery and hot-tempered. This image – wrong or not – most likely stems from the fact that the Scots, with their high percentage of red haired people, are descended from the Celts, notoriously violent warriers. Red hair was thought to be a mark of a beastly sexual desire and moral degeneration. See? I told you it’s not all bad. It is a common belief that redheads are highly sexed. Jonathon Swift satirized this redhead stereotype in Gulliver’s Travels, part 4, A Voyage to the Country of the Houyhnhnms, when he wrote: “It is observed that the red-haired of both sexes are more libidinous and mischievous than the rest, whom yet they much exceed in strength and activity.” As Austin Powers might observe, Oh, yeah, baby!
